The deal between us.
These are the terms you agree to when you use Wallace. We've kept them short on purpose — read them, ask us anything that's unclear, and write to support@doppelabs.ai if something doesn't sit right.
Wallace is in open alpha. Things will break, features will change, and the product is offered "as is." Don't trust Wallace as the only copy of anything you can't afford to lose — export your library regularly.
Who can sign up
You need to be at least 16 and able to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. Don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.
What you can do with Wallace
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Wallace for research and learning, subject to these terms. The free and premium tiers are described on the pricing page; the limits there are part of these terms.
Your content stays yours
- The papers, notes, highlights, and questions you put into Wallace are yours. We don't claim ownership.
- You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely so we can run Wallace for you (e.g., parse a PDF, index your library, answer your questions).
- We don't use your library to train general-purpose models.
- You can export everything at any time, and delete it by deleting your account.
Things you can't do
- Don't upload content you don't have the right to use, or content that breaks copyright, privacy, or other laws.
- Don't try to break, probe, or scrape the service in ways that interfere with other users.
- Don't use Wallace to do anything illegal, harmful, or harassing.
- Don't resell access to Wallace or use it as a backend for a competing product.
The alpha bargain
You're getting Wallace early in exchange for being patient with rough edges. We'll ship fixes weekly, listen to feedback, and tell you plainly when something's broken. In return, we can't promise uptime, feature stability, or that any specific feature will continue to exist. We'll give reasonable notice before discontinuing anything significant.
Pricing and changes
Free is free during alpha. Premium is twenty dollars a month. If we change pricing, you'll see the new price before your next billing cycle and can cancel before it takes effect.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time from your account settings. Your data remains accessible until you delete it; export anything you want to keep before you do.
If we have to end your access
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we're legally required to. We'll give notice when we can. Your right to export your data survives termination for a reasonable period.
What we don't promise
Wallace is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of model output, or non-infringement. AI answers can be wrong. Always verify against the underlying sources Wallace cites.
Limits on liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Doppel Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Wallace. Our total liability for direct damages is capped at the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars, whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are exclusively subject to the courts located in Delaware, unless a mandatory law in your country says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Wallace grows. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and notify registered users by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
